Overview
Over twenty defendant groups and their affiliates (“Settling Defendants”) have agreed to Settlements resolving claims that they fixed the price of certain vehicle components. As a result, businesses in some states may have paid more for purchases or leases of certain new vehicles and replacement parts.
Businesses, with their principal place of business located, in the District of Columbia or the states listed below who purchased or leased a qualifying vehicle (see below), new and for their own use from 1995 - 2018, will be entitled to share in the monetary recovery. Those states are: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
In general, qualifying vehicles are four-wheeled passenger automobiles, cars, light trucks, pickup trucks, crossovers, vans, mini-vans, and sport utility vehicles. The claims process is open now, so with the proper information, MCAG can file on your behalf to ensure your business receives money due from these Settlements.
The following entities are excluded from the Settlements:
Any of the Defendants, their parent companies, subsidiaries, and affiliates;
Any co-conspirators;
Federal government entities and instrumentalities;
States and their political subdivisions, agencies, and instrumentalities; and
All persons who purchased their vehicle parts directly from the Defendants or for resale.
